RESEARCH INTERESTS
1. Exploring and applying phylogenomic and phylogenetics in statistical genetics, such as tracing the origins and genetic relationships among various disease-causing agents and tracking their modes of transmission. Also, applications of phylogenomic and phylogenetics in precision, personalized medicine, and drug discovery.
2. Develop statistical and mathematical methods and models to estimate disease trajectories and trends for neurodegenerative disorders, including Alzheimer's disease and other memory disorders, ataxia, Huntington's disease, and Parkinson's disease, as well as other statistical and mathematical applications in biomedical research.
3. Development of a more rigorous and holistic understanding of social and environmental characteristics contributing to health inequities, low health literacy, and financial strain and undermining the effects of technological advancement in the health sectors.
